Integration · Shopify
Connect your chatbot to your Shopify store information.
Chatyx’s Shopify connection supports product information and order-status enquiries. Configure it in the app using a website chatbot and your store’s API credentials.
Two uses, with different data
Answer product questions
The connector lets the chatbot consult the catalog for product details, variants, prices and availability. Answers depend on the information available in Shopify and the permissions granted.
Help with order-status enquiries
The flow is designed to request the buyer’s email and order number before looking up a status. Test it with a test order and a combination that matches no order before making it available to customers.
Prepare access and your chatbot
- A website chatbot in your Chatyx account.
- Your Shopify store domain, the required administrative permissions and an Admin API access token.
- The Shopify app secret key requested by the Chatyx connection form.
- Additional sources for delivery terms, returns and your FAQ.
Check the permissions needed to read products and orders with your store administrator. Enter secrets only in the designated app fields, never in a chatbot conversation.
Connect, then test a limited scope
- Open the Shopify connection in Chatyx and select the website chatbot to connect.
- Enter the domain and requested credentials. Run the connection check, then save the complete connection.
- Ask about a few known products. Compare the answers with your store listings and check any links offered.
- Test order status and no-match cases. Also ask a FAQ question to check the use of additional sources.
A successful connection check verifies access; it does not validate every answer scenario. Contact us for help preparing your store setup.
What this integration covers
The connection currently uses API credentials entered in Chatyx. It is not a one-click installation from the Shopify App Store. The widget also needs to be embedded on your website to display the chatbot there.
The uses described here concern product information and order status. Creating or modifying orders, issuing refunds and running abandoned-cart campaigns are outside this page’s scope. Chatyx allowances and Shopify’s own terms still apply.
